1. What Competitive Edge is

Competitive Edge is an advisory service for international medical graduates preparing for the US residency match. You give us information about your training, examinations, and experience; we give you a competitiveness score, per-specialty match bands, analysis, and suggested next moves, produced by a deterministic scoring model and an AI analyst working from published Match data.

Competitive Edge is independent. We are not affiliated with any residency programme, the NRMP, ECFMG, or any body involved in running the Match, and nothing we do can influence your application with them.

By creating a profile or buying a season pass you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy.

2. What Competitive Edge is not

No guarantee. Your score is a competitiveness read benchmarked against published Match outcomes. It is not a prediction, and it is not a guarantee of an interview, a ranking, or a match. Nobody can honestly guarantee those things, and you should be wary of anyone who says otherwise.

Not professional advice. Competitive Edge does not provide medical, legal, or immigration advice. Where your situation touches visa law or anything requiring a licensed professional, the product will say so and you should consult one.

Limits of the score. The score works only from what you provide. It cannot see your letters, your MSPE, your personal statement, your interview performance, or how a particular programme weighs any of it.

3. Accurate information about yourself

Competitive Edge gives you a competitiveness read based entirely on what you tell us. You agree that the information you enter, and any CV you upload, describes you and is accurate and current to the best of your knowledge. You will not invent, inflate, or alter exam scores, credentials, experiences, or any other fact, and you will not enter or upload another person’s information, documents, or identity as your own.

We do not independently verify your scores, credentials, or documents; the quality and honesty of your report depend entirely on the accuracy of what you provide. If information you supply is inaccurate, your report may be wrong in ways we cannot detect.

If we reasonably believe you have provided fabricated information or submitted another person’s data as your own, we may suspend or close your access under section 9. Because the service is delivered digitally and consumed when your full report is opened, a season pass consumed before such a suspension is not refundable (section 6).

4. Your licence is personal to you

When you buy a season pass, we grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use Competitive Edge for one applicant, you, for that Match season. One purchase covers one person’s application data. You may not:

• share your login or account access with anyone else;
• use one account to prepare or analyse applications for more than one applicant; or
• sell, rent, or transfer your access or your report to anyone.

Running more than one applicant through a single account, or sharing your access, is a breach of these terms and we may suspend or close the account under section 9. Each applicant needs their own account and their own season pass. Using Competitive Edge again for your own later application season is fine; that is a new season and a new pass, not a breach.

5. Payment and the season pass

A season pass is a one-time payment covering one Match season, the season of your named target Match year. It unlocks your full report, unlimited profile updates and re-runs, and the analyst chat, until that season’s Match. There is no subscription, no auto-renewal, and no recurring charge. A new season is a new purchase.

Prices are shown at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe under Stripe’s own terms; we never see or store your card number.

6. Refunds and your right to change your mind

When you buy a season pass, you get access immediately. You have a statutory right to change your mind and withdraw within 14 days of purchase. At checkout you agree that we deliver the service straight away and you acknowledge that your right to withdraw lapses once you open your full report.

Opening your full report is a deliberate step you take after payment, not something that happens automatically. Until you take it:

• if you have paid but not opened your full report, you can request a full refund within 14 days of purchase at [support email];
• once you open your full report, the service is consumed and the payment is not refundable, including if your access is later suspended for a breach of these terms, and including if you later delete your account.

7. Your content and ours

You own what you give us: your profile information, your uploaded CV, your chat messages. You grant us the licence to process them, only to provide the service, as described in the privacy policy.

We own the product: the scoring model, the software, the report design, and the methodology. Your report is yours to keep and use for your own application; you may not resell it or offer it as part of a service to others.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use Competitive Edge for anyone's application but your own (section 4);
• upload documents you have no right to submit;
• probe, scrape, reverse-engineer, or overload the service, or attempt to extract other users' data or the scoring model;
• use the output to build or train a competing service.

9. Suspension and closing your account

We may suspend or close your access if we reasonably believe you have breached these terms, including the honesty obligation in section 3 and the single-licence rule in section 4. Where the situation allows, we will tell you what we found and give you a chance to respond before anything final.

You can stop using Competitive Edge at any time and delete your account; the privacy policy explains what is removed and what payment records must survive.

10. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Beyond that, our total liability to you is capped at the amount you paid for your current season pass, and we are not liable for indirect losses, including the outcome of your residency application. Your Match result depends on many things Competitive Edge cannot see or control.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of [jurisdiction], and disputes go to the courts of [jurisdiction]. If you are a consumer, the mandatory protections of your own country apply regardless.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the product or by email before they take effect. Changes do not apply retroactively to a season pass already purchased, except where the law requires.
